Founded in 1972 The Glasgow Freight Club was formed to promote sociability and friendship among members and to assist charitable organisations in the Glasgow area and elsewhere.
The club has currently over 100 active members and we are delighted to extend a welcome to potential new members from the Air, Sea, Rail and Road transport or associated businesses.
Current members in Scotland come from as far apart as West Kilbride on the West Coast to Grangemouth on the East.
In 2005 the Constitution and Rules of the Club were amended to admit members from outwith the Glasgow and Central belt of Scotland and to extend membership to persons elsewhere in the world engaged in the trasnsportation industry.
Membership is open to executives in the transportation industry and to those actively engaged in the transport field who are, in the opinion of the committee, of suitable business reputation.
Eligibility for membership shall rest with the committee. Membership applications must be sponsored by two existing members.
